Two references Written by Barbara (8/28/2005 12:29 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Is this the reference...?, penned by Mandy N

In the first letter, Jane writes that as Cassandra has not mentioned anything about silk stockings, she (Jane) will assume that Charles didn't buy any, and Jane thinks this is just as well, as she can't afford to pay for them. I was wondering why their brother would be involved in this at all.
