Setting the scene: Steventon Rectory and Church   Written by JulieW (8/28/2005 10:35 a.m.)

Are you new?

These are two drawings of Steventon Rectory, executed by Anna Austen,JAs niece and daughter of James.

Of course nothing much survives of the rectory now.It was demolished in 1828.What remains is a water pump , which now stands in a field. If anyoen visits St Nicholas' Church Steveton, you can see it in the field on the rigth hand side as you turn into the lane that leads to the church.

Here is a link to the parish church at Steventon, where the very fabulously hospitable Michael Kenning is now Rector.( click on the Steventon Chruch link for all the information)
