The pairing as in a mystery novel...   Written by Reeba (6/27/2006 4:44 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Jack and Alice: Insensible Charles, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

It is misleading all the time, like a true mystery novel;

The Sultana was Caroline Simpson at the masquerade;
"Oh, Cecelia, I wish I was really what I pretend to be."
Caroline Simpson's unbounded ambition is mentioned a few times as well as;
early in CH 2;
"Every wish of Caroline was centred in a titled husband"
And one thinks she would like to be one.

-So for Cecelia to end up as Sultana was surprising. But maybe the hint lay in her reclining in a studied attitude on a couch at the masquerade.

-We are told after the masquerade, Lady Williams was too sensible to fall in love with one so much her junior - but she is always so contradictory that she ends up with Charles. LOL!!

-Weren't we all misled like Miss Johnson in thinking the lady to marry Charles would be the cook??? LOL!!!

Well I saw these as misleading clues after the ending ;-)
