This funny little piece tells the tale of Sir William Montague who is a slave to his emotions. He instantly falls in love with no fewer than seven women during the course of the story and actually marries one, though that didn't slow him down any.
The ellipses at the end of the story
"On enquiring the name of this fair Unknown, he found that she was the Sister of his old freind Lady Percival, at which he was much rejoiced, as he hoped to have, by his acquaintance with her Ladyship, free access to Miss Wentworth........"
leaves one with the impression that he will just continue on with his love 'em and leave 'em ways, that his is a neverending affliction.
It is dedicated to her brother Charles which makes me wonder if he was a bit of a ladies' man? ;-)
