Mr. Harley   Written by Carolyn (6/23/2006 10:56 p.m.)
Are you new?

I find this one rather intriguing ... Did he lose his memory at sea, wounded in battle or just forgetful? Was he under some alcoholic influence at the time of wedding? Lots of questions without any answers.

And why did he cut his hair before sailing? Was that the custom?

PS -- Did anyone else dip into Sir William Montague and Mr. Clifford. What a sad trio of gentlemen, forgetful, fickle and frail. :-)

(These are nestled between Mr. Harley and the Beautiful Cassandra in the Oxford world Classics edition)
