Sorry, I forgot to read the Exlanatory Notes for this:

Lindsay: a noble Scottish name, family name of the Earls of Balcarres; the first Earl of Balcarres, Alexander Lindsay, declared for the King in the Civil War and died in exile at Breda.

Talbot: an eminently English and heroic name; the most famous Talbot was John, first Earl of Shrewsbury, who fought the French under Henry V (see Shakespeare's Henry V) and Henry VI (see 1 Henry VI, iv. vii).
