Thievery   Written by Cheryl (6/20/2006 11:55 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, She has a different standards too, penned by Golda
Are you new?

There is a lot of theft going in, isn't there? In addition to Laura and Sophia stealing from MacDonald, Augustus stole money from his father before he eloped with Sophia, and then runs up so much debt he gets thrown into Newgate. Philander and Gustavus steal from their mothers and run off to the stage in London, leaving their mothers to starve to death.

It's great, funny, really black humor, but as with all black humor there's an underlying meanness, isn't there - especially with the starving mothers. Not quite sure what to make of it sometimes.
