Scatching the surface   Written by Carolyn (8/28/2004 11:22 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I'm sorry this is ending ;-(, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

I first thought, "How do we get a week of discussion out of this little piece", but once you start digging there is alot of stuff in there. I think it shows not only Jane's genius, but how well educated (or well read) she was. Packing so much stuff into so short a work. I am guessing that an anotated edition of the History of England would be a normal sized book!

A quick glance notes not only the 13 Monarchs -- but 45 + other historical figures (15+ being women) who are directly refered to or eluded to. There is also 2 battles, 2 wars and a gunpowder plot!
