If anyone has had their interested piqued by the GR, I’d like to recommend some relevant history books that I’ve enjoyed – all of course available from Amazon! Hope I have done the Pemberley links OK.
Three non-fiction books I thought were good:
The Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey – this is set in and written in the 1950’s and is about a policeman in hospital who is intrigued by a picture of Richard III into looking more deeply into the Prices in the Tower mystery. A light read and very enjoyable.

Two by Reay Tannerhill – The Seventh son, another Richard III one, and Fatal Majesty, which deals with Mary Queen of Scots in a sensible but sympathetic manner:

On the Princes in the Tower, I enjoyed Bertram Fields’ Royal Blood, which takes a sensible and balanced approach:

On Richard III, about 50 years old now, but still the best biography, with a good background on the Wars of the Roses, Paul Murray Kendall’s book:

Jane Dunn’s Elizabeth & Mary I thought was a fascinating look at the two queens in one isle:

And of course David Starkey’s Six Wives: The Queens of Henry VIII and pretty comprehensive, and I like Starkey’s style:

There are plenty of others around, but I’ve read all these fairly recently and can recommend them! I just wish I could remember where the reference to Phillip II of Spain's icky death was - that's worth reading!!!
I've really enjoyed this GR - thanks to all!
