Jane was quite the history reader wasn't she? It's really amazing to me that she, at the age of 16, would be so bold as to parody two published historians in the way she does it in her history. In some ways, it really shows the perception and genius she has for humor and wit. (Am I being a Mr. Whitaker?) ;-)
