if you look at JA's original, the "every other month" part of that statment is...not there either ;-)

I think she was poking fun at Goldsmtih again.

He only mentions a few of the martyrs by name:

Hooper;Rogers;Saunders;Taylor;Ridley;Latimer;Crammner;Bucus; fagius; the Wife of Peter Martyr.

He then dismisses the whole terrible espisode with this short sentance:

In this reign five bishops, twenty-one ministers and above 200 others went to thr flames in maintenance of the truth; numbers died in prison, and several by whips and torture were forced to abjure
