In parodying Goldsmith's text, I think JA's History delights in outrageous judgements.

She's quite comical about heroic deaths. As we haave seen with Lord Cobham and Richard 2, this line about Lord Protector Somerset isn't the first time she uses throwaway lines.

Such Gothic ignorance!
