Queen Mary   Written by Carolyn (8/24/2004 11:25 p.m.)
Are you new?

Many were the people who fell Martyrs to the protestant Religion during her reign; I suppose not fewer than a dozen every other month.

Accounts vary, but about 300 people died in her reign on charges of heresy, which roughly works about to a dozen every other month or so.

I am guessing Goldsmith exaggerates the amount greatly?

She married Philip King of Spain who in her Sister's reign was famous for building Armadas.

This site gives a nice synosis of events.
