From the Lady in the Tower...   Written by Mandy N (8/24/2004 2:35 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Anne's Letter, penned by Carolyn
Are you new?

During their courtship, Henry VIII carely burnt Anne's letters before the all seeing eyes of his court and foreign spies. You know, 'The King's Secret Matter' which the court buzzed about.

I must admit, although I'd like to believe this letter was real, I find it hard to believe Henry would keep the letter of a woman whom he wanted to forget. After her execution, AB's heraldic badges, and coat of arms were replaced with those of Jane Seymour whom Henry was bethrothed to the day after Anne's death.

I suppose it's possible Mr Kingston or someone thought better than to deliver the letter to the king but kept it somewhere safe.

Well, I guess interpretation of history is full of possiblities!
