Just out of interest the year would be 1536. This is the year Anne Boleyn was arrested for treason and adultery, apparently after a May Day tournament. She was tried and beheaded on Tower Green in May 1536.

It's interesting JA stresses the innocence of Anna Bullen 'this amicable woman' as was the mother of a queen JA so completely objects to.
