The is a slight hump on the back of this fellow, but otherwise he looks a handsome young gentleman (maybe one of Jane's brothers?)

I should point out the following (very important) line is omitted from the E-text version

It has indeed been confidently asserted that he killed his two Nephews & his wife, but it as also been declared that he did not kill his two nephews, which I am inclined to beleive true;

Otherwise it looks as if Jane is anti-Richard, and she is not.
