I don't know about that   Written by Line (8/22/2004 9:37 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Jane's opinion of Joan of Arc, penned by Anne Charlotte
Are you new?

I remember reading that Joan of Arc was considered a popular saint long before she was officially declared one by the Catholic Church in the 1920s, and I think she's always been quite popular in England, too (though I'm not so sure about this), despite her being French and officially on the other side. However, I'm not sure if her popularity would have extended all the way back to England in the late 18th century.
