Ah Castle Rising.......   Written by JulieW (8/21/2004 5:41 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Edwards, penned by Deborah d'Bajor
Are you new?

Myretta loves this place! I wonder if we can persuade her to post pictures?

For thsoe intersted,it's a fabulously preserved castle not far from Sandringham in north West Norfolk, about 30 miles from my home.Teh earth work defences surrrounding it are stupendous.Great for little boys( and mummys!) to play in( and they positively encourage play there, with a fabulous, friendly curator and swords-a-plenty to be bought in the small but well stocked gift shop.

Here's a link to the website: thought it claims Isabella was not held prisoner, the castle was in so isolated a place, she certainly could not cause any further trouble, being so happily situated away from most of the places of power ;-)

Edward III was killed at Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire. Here's a link to that site( it is a fabulous castle to visit too): and they appear to have very strong links with the US ....;-)
