Are you new?

I always thought that JA's "very few dates" comment was a poke at the tradition of making children learn lists of boring dates in history class, and that our Jane probably wasn't very good at it. From your information, though, it sounds like JA thought there weren't enough dates in Goldsmith's textbook, and that she was making fun of it for being history lite!
