Her comment about the scarcity of dates actually started a trend, you know;-) 1066 And All That, a lampoon of English History and they way the subject was taught in early 290th century England, by W.S. Sellar and R.J. Yateman has the sub-title;

A Memorable History of England , comprising all the parts you can remember , including 103 Good Things,5 Bad Kings and 2 Genuine Dates.
