Henry the 5th -- Partial   Written by Carolyn (8/20/2004 11:40 a.m.)
Are you new?

Since JA mentions HV is "quite reformed and amiable, forsaking all his dissipated Companions" and married to an "agreeable" woman, I am thinking that she has some partiality for Henry V. Also, his historic reputation (king as soldier, his victory over the French) may have influenced JA, as England was frequently at war with France.

Indeed, 2 years after the history was written, England was again at war with France.
