Why start with Henry 4th?   Written by Carolyn (8/20/2004 7:41 a.m.)
Are you new?

I am wondering why Jane started with Henry IV? After reading this history, I am wishing she started earlier with William the Conqueror or even Alfred.

I imagine that William the Conqueror would go something like this --

William the Conqueror

William sailed to England from France, where he marched to meet Harold at the Battle of Hastings. Harold obliging died during the battle and William was then crowned King of England on Christmas Day. He built a big tower in London and commissioned a book called Doomsday so he could tax everyone. He then sailed back to France and never set foot in England again.

Anyone up to doing more of the missing monarchs?

I have linked to a site that I found useful in getting general biographical information on the Monarchs Jane mentions.

British Monarchs
