Partial, Prejudiced & Ignorant!   Written by Deborah d'Bajor (8/20/2004 5:38 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Partial, Prejudiced & Ignorant, penned by Carolyn
Are you new?

I love this - she puts it so boldly, like she's not at all ashamed! I think it's difficult for anyone interested in history not to have their own partialities anyhow.

You do wonder however, if JA really was ignorant about history. I think not, by proclaiming it here - she's just having some fun! The dedication from the 16 year old JA is to her sister.

I also love the line: NB There will be very few dates in this history - LOL!!!

I have a British Library/Folio Society copy, wich includes facsimillies of the original manuscript - lovely! The front paper pronounces it to be: "... a gleeful parody of Oliver Goldsmith's History of England or 1771". I don't suppose that's in general circulation now!

Cassandra's drawings are pretty funny too - all done like Regency people. I'm guessing they weren't supposed to like like who they were supposed to be??!
