GR: Questions, questions, questions   Written by Cheryl (5/21/2003 12:07 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: Hard to say, penned by Laraine
Are you new?

(As opposed to "word, words, words" of course!)

] Act V, more than half the questions are in the first scene (the gravedigger/burial scene) and most of those are meant for comic effect.

It really is almost like a vaudeville routine - anything you can say I can say wittier. Even though the subject matter is usually thought to be a serious one. I love that scene.

] Just looking at it from this perspective, the gravedigger scene is the culmination of all the questions about life and death and who/what we ultimately are. And it ends with "It is I, Hamlet the Dane!" -- There's an answer for you. :O)

Ooh.... You're so deep, Laraine! ;-)
