GR: Laertes vs. Hamlet   Written by Skylar B (5/20/2003 11:27 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, In defence of Laertes, penned by ching
Are you new?

I don't much care for Laertes, as he seems somewhat shallow to me, but, to be honest, I don't much care for Hamlet either. Just because he broods doesn't make him a better man. He's creul to Ophelia, and consumed with himself. He's indecisive, melancholy, etc. I don't see him as the "better" man, just as the more developed man; our hero, rather than our foil.
