Are you sure ...   Written by Line (11/15/2003 7:34 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: Wrap up and thanks, penned by Myretta
Are you new?

... we have to quit? I'm not ready yet! I also found that this book taught me a lot about the background of JA's novels, including, as Golda says, about servants, and how much time a genteel woman really spent with her children while they were growing up, that the gentry bought their furniture to imitate, not outdo each other, and that standards of behaviour for the gentry and the aristocracy were not necessarily the same thing! Thanks, Myretta - I thought you must be an old hand at leading a group read! And I would definitely enjoy it if we did another group read of a non-fiction historical background type of book!
