Here's a picture   Written by Caroline (11/14/2003 8:57 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: Highly interesting + informative - Thanks! (nfm), penned by Line
Are you new?

An old post by our very own Lindy, in the middle of an archived conversation about methodism and enthusiasm. Please remember that the Hogarth print is very satirical, and nobody should take it as a serious comment upon any of the religions mentioned. It clearly shows an "enthusiastic" preacher whipping up his congregation, and it is a wonderful depiction of the three-tier pulpit complete with cushions!

Lindy's post on Hogarth, from the L&T archives.
