GR: This surprised me   Written by Kim in AK (11/13/2003 9:05 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: Trials as entertainment, penned by Line
Are you new?

I have to admit to being very surprised to read of the avid interest in these sensational trials. It does not seem to fit my idea of a well-bred, refined, genteel woman. Particularly the comment about being disappointed that only one person had been convicted of murder! Can you imagine Jane Bennet Bingley attending a murder trial or a divorce trial?? I cannot imagine it.

I guess this is the equivalent of watching trashy television today (something that I, of course, am too refined to do!).
