GR: Slightly of topic: Diana, duchess of Devonshire   Written by KerstinM (11/10/2003 11:28 a.m.)
Are you new?

There were so many references to her in AV's book that on my last shopping trip, a biography about her life caught my interest. IMO it complements "The gentleman's daughter" rather nicely because you learn much about the aristocracy and their idiosyncrasies.

It's a lighter read than Vickery's book and less scholarly. So far I'm enjoying the read and find many things confirmed Vickery wrote about.
