GR: Manners   Written by Golda (11/7/2003 2:09 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR:Poor Emma-civil almost to the last, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

Thanks for posting these excerpts Julie. I always had a sense that Jane Fairfax was a bit aloof, but you actually compiled the quotes to justify my feelings.

I love the quotes from Mrs. Chapone. Her text is written in an old style of English but the content is still appropriate and applicable today. The more I read this book, the more I am convinced that society has changed much less than most people think.
