This is particularly so in Chapter 5, Elegance. Time and again, as ES records her purchases and describes her worldly goods, I am reminded of Pepys making just such entries.
Here is ES's entry about her new Gillows table. (see Julie's excellent post about that). ...The Wood very handsome. 16 feet all very strong and made neat it cost the table onl £5 5s Packing 3s 6d in all £5:8:6. good luck to it. Good luck using it & hope we shall all have our Healths & do well.
I find this so evocative of Pepys's reports of his goods and purchases and his frequent invocation of God's blessing on himself and his belongings.
