G.R: Mourning jewellery worth a look.   Written by Mandy N (11/5/2003 2:18 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I think they are lovley, penned by JulieW

] Here's a link to some of the types and history of sentimental jewellry N.B. It takes a while to load, but do wait as it is worth it ;-)

Thanks! I love antique jewellery so I appreciated this link, not simply for the lovely pictures but for what I learnt. I'd always regarded mourning jewellery as merely jet pieces and hair woven items.Yet,this range is extensive; The black enamelled/gold items are my faves and those unusual eye rings! They might seem macabre yet every item indeed tells a story.Alittle family history is preserved within these items. For once, with portraits and hair locks, women and children became a focus of the family history.
