Indeed!

It seemed a lot of quacks in an experimental frenzy were plaguing Europe than. No wonder Samuel Hahnemann or Messmer had such tremendous success with their homeopathic/esoteric treatments at the end of the 18th century-and were it simply because they didn't use bleeding, purging, starving etc. as treatment.
