GR: Good advise   Written by KerstinM (10/29/2003 11:53 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR:Mrs Taylor's Advice., penned by JulieW
Are you new?

] ] Mrs Taylor advises studying the attitude of the father( and prospective husband) towards his children and the memory of his dead wife..If he is not affectionate, then do not marry him! Hmmmm.........

Good and sound advise But I would replace the term “affectionate” with loyal. Maybe the match was not a love match (as those matches were often not) or not a happy one because the wife was shrewish and unkind-thus affectionate praising in this case would be slightly off the mark. But nevertheless one should expect a certain loyalty towards the late wife which would exclude talking badly about her.

I agree that some of our couples would have benefited from those instructions!

Kerstin
