GR - Very helpful, thanks! :-)   Written by LaurieC (10/28/2003 9:38 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Practical Education., penned by JulieW
Are you new?

] There were two editions of this work( I have a battreed copy of the lesser valued second edition-dash it!!).

According to their website, Amazon is planning to publish a new edition of Practical Education after the first of the year for the reasonable price of $375! Whoa--it will be more cost effective for me to fly over to read your copy, dear Julie. ;-) I've scoured the L&T bibliography and tried some searches at Amazon for other informative (and cheaper) books about the Edgeworth family and circle of friends, but it's hard to narrow down. If anyone can recommend a biography or similar through Amazon, please do let me know. Thanks! :-)

] was writted by Maria in close co-operation with her father Richard and a team of assistants.

From the *very* little I've read, it puts me in mind of JS Mill's education, so now I'm very eager to read the educational philosophy of this group.

Thanks, Julie! :-)
