GR: Discordant Matrimony and MP   Written by Tori Marie (10/28/2003 12:54 a.m.)
Are you new?

] I liked the illustration from Chapter 2, "Discordant Matrimony." Not that Mr. & Mrs. Price didn't get along, but I think their household chaos might be captured fairly well by that picture.

I can see that. ;-)

If you think about Chapter 2 and MP though, I think Admiral and Mrs. Crawford win the big prize for that one. As far as I can recall at this moment, theirs is the grandaddy of all bad marriages in JA. Or at least in the Top 5. ;-)

Others that come to mind are Mr. Elliot and the bride he took because of her handsome dowry, Willoughby and the former Miss Grey (though we can only guess at the unhappiness there), Mr. Weston's marriage to the former Miss Churchill and that of Col. Brandon's Eliza and the late Mr. Brandon. (Now that I think of it, perhaps the Crawfords are number two after all!) ;-)
