I hadn't even thought about that interpretation of the picture, and I've been gazing at it all week! I had a question about another picture, it is from the collection of four (numbered 12 - 15). In #14, "Modern Love: The Honeymoon", a servant* (I am quite sure it is not Baddeley) is spilling something off his tray in the background. Are those calling cards, pizza slices, or...? And is the groom wearing a stocking cap?

There's a lot of detail in all the pictures (which I can't quite make out in total), but this is the one that's driving me crazy. ;-)

*An alternate theory was that it is Mr. Rushworth coming back to Sotherton too soon...
