GR: A Very Good Book!   Written by Emmeline (10/20/2003 8:38 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: The Gentleman's Daughter, penned by Myretta
Are you new?

]The Gentleman’s Daughter is based on actual correspondence and journals written the north of England during the 18th century. They reflect real life at that time.

I think it a very good book. It has taught me much that I had wanted to know about 'real life at that time'. It is an interesting learning experience.

]But we know a lot of these people. As I read the book, I would think, “Oh, this is Mrs. Bennet’s family. These are the Bingleys” I think it would be fun and useful to try to relate what we’re reading to Jane Austen’s characters and her family.

Oh! yes, that would be fun. And I agree that we 'know' those people. :)
