Differences in geography   Written by Myretta (10/19/2003 3:45 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: Confined and unvarying?? (Ch. 1), penned by Barbara
Are you new?

Julie will be posting more on this later, but I am under the impression that geography plays a role in how these microcosms of society operate. The northern part of England is much removed from the more cosmopolitan influence in the south and particularly near London. I imagine roads were also less navigable and that getting to even a small town might be a major journey.

IMO, it would be confined an unvarying to an even greater degree than Meryton. Would this influence the more porous nature of the class lines, do you think?
