A word of thanks to Myretta   Written by Deborah Julia (10/19/2003 9:37 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: The Gentleman's Daughter, penned by Myretta
Are you new?

Um, I hope I don't sound like a prig but I am so relived that you have posted this oh, so gentle reminder. I bought this book when it was first published and find it fascinating. I was so excited to see it was going to be the subject of our next GR and have been busy re-reading and making notes.

Then I thought about one or two of the points you raised. For myself I was and am going to tie the GR into "Ah, S&S, em, P&P", but found myself thinking "Oh heck!". I need not of worried, you have laid down perfectly clear guidelines and I am sure we can discuss, disagree and get lots of insights from this GR without straying were we don't want to go.

I think I AM sounding like a prig but I beleive that there is a time and a place for all things and Pemberley is the place where I can come and talk about JA's novels without getting sniped at for being old fashioned.

Once again, thanks M. DJ who isn't always such a prig as she is sounding in this post.
