in a fiery rage after Irene told him what happened. Cousin George puts together his rants as "Soames had exercised his rights over an estranged and unwilling wife in the greatest-the supreme act of property". George surmises "He's really going for Soames!"

The fog was such that George, who knew the area well, lost Bosinney. Bosinney, who was all feelings and emotions, paid little attention to his surroundings and was struck down.

A very sad business. And yes, it did happen within 24 hours.
