Soames & his parents   Written by Rebecca Ann (10/12/2004 3:11 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Touching Scene, penned by Golda
Are you new?

Soames walking in while James was helping with his wife's stays was a jolt--such a mundane thing for a couple to do, but everything the relationship between Soames and Irene is not. This was also the first time I really saw James as a person. James just wasn't vivid to me before Soames walked into his parents' room.

Is Soames even capable of this sort of intimacy, or is he only a man of property? Was he looking past "owning" Irene when he pursued her before their marriage?
