Viewing Irene as his property is   Written by Rosalie (9/27/2004 9:28 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, On that theme...., penned by Deborah d'Bajor
Are you new?

such an apt phrase. He goes off by himself to look at (view) his paintings. Now he's building a house in the country "To get Irene out of London, away from opportunities of going about and seeing people, away from her friends and those who put ideas in her head!" It's like putting her in a room, like his paintings, where only he can look at her.

This sounds like obsession, not love.
