I would very much appreciate it if someone would explain to me why many of the Forsytes are against Soames building a country home (or at least consider it to be a big deal.)
For some it seems purely monetary: a country home will not bring back 5% as an investment. But to James it seems like it must be more. Is it related to his visit to Dorsetshire? (Excuse my ignorance, is Robin Hill in/near Dorsetshire?) Or is he just against Bossiney being the architect? (I think not.)
Also, do you think June was just trying to get her fiance some business when she talked to James about a country home or do you really think she thinks they are that great?
