tendency to appear and disappear like HC in MP, agree. I think FC was really fortunate to finally secure Jane. Though I do wonder what would've happened if circumstances hadn't worked out as they did, and the old woman lived longer, etc. Poor Jane! At least she appears to be happy in the end, albeit with a mildly unsettling feeling lingering, on his descriptions of her at the Westons, and his comments about her skin, etc. Creepy.
