the early references about "teenage-Emma". I didn´t remember them but they underline the way I think Mr. Knightley was affected by her. And I subscribe to your opinion that she was partly the reason Mr. Knightley visited Hartfield so frequently - a fact I didn´t quite understand in the beginning of our group-read.

Now that the pieces of the puzzle have been put together the picture of their relationship seems to get clearer. Thank you, Rachel G!
