That passage   Written by Laraine (5/6/2008 2:59 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Yes, the lime trees are not the citrus variety....., penned by JulieW
Are you new?

"the delicious shade of a broad short avenue of limes, which stretching beyond the garden at an equal distance from the river, seemed the finish of the pleasure grounds."

always reminds me of Coleridge's "This Lime-Tree Bower My Prison" and this line in particular:

A delight
Comes sudden on my heart, and I am glad
As I myself were there !
