I note the very different tempos among your quotations...   Written by Mary-L (5/4/2008 12:58 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Heat, penned by nan duval
Are you new?

...and the different degrees of relaxation--in the earlier quotes--and the frustrations in some of the later ones which are in part brought on by the heat of the Donwell strawberry event. We have the disjointed phrases from members of the strawberry picking group, feeling rushed and tired by exertion. A bit later we have Frank venting his irritation at rushing late to the party in the heat, and feeling he must leave again very quickly (having briefly seen "one"--Jane-- leaving early).

And how well JA expresses the frustrated comments, snatches of words separated only by dashes; we can almost hear the shortness of breath in those who had anticipated ease and relaxation, and had found heat and exertion.
