I have run into Mr. Collins at just about every place I have ever worked. They are the ones that don't do a very good job, but are very good at flattering the boss. Somehow they always get promoted over those who work harder but are not flatterers. Mr. Collins I have always considered one of the most realistic of Jane's creations.
