Thank you for the information and the link to Gilbert White/Selborne. A columnist from the New York Times used to quote from White's Natural History in his writings.


I had never thought to look for a website for White; it is lovely to see the pictures and learn more. Just last night, I was reading S&S where Mrs. Jennings extols the convenience of a butcher so close to Col. Brandon's home at Delaford and how inconvenient it is for Barton Park to be less easily supplied.
Certainly depends on your point of view and smell!
